After having sailed our previous boat for a year to find out whether we would enjoy this as a family for future holidays, we decided to have a new boat built ‘tailor-made’ for our family, with one condition being that our youngest daughter, who was multi-complex disabled and therefore wheelchair-bound, could also come along.

After the initial discussions with the yard (Steeler) during which we made our wishes known (including long-distance travel, Norway/France/England), we automatically came to the question of comfort and stability. On board our new boat, everything had to be robust and 100 % reliable so that we could be in control in any situation at sea. So the subject of stabilisation automatically came up. I myself had never heard of the DMS Magnum master and was thinking more along the lines of a gyro system or fins, but Hans Webbink advised me to opt for the system developed by DMS. After learning about this new and revolutionary system, I was convinced we wanted this too, so from the drawing board onwards, this system was integrated into our boat.

During the delivery, we were naturally very curious to see whether the system would live up to our expectations, which turned out to be a good thing because the wind was NW 6 to 7 during the test and I couldn't resist sailing a course across the sea. Of course this was quite exciting, but don't panic, the system kept the boat under control beautifully, although the DMS MagnumMaster system had to work 100%. Then briefly without the system but that was short-lived, straight into the wind to then engage the DMS system again.

Meanwhile, we have been sailing our boat to our full satisfaction since April 2018 and have made many sea miles and trips that we would never have done without the DMS system on board. In addition, we have never really missed a day because we could not or dared not sail because of the weather conditions, this is also a big advantage besides the stability.
